I’m here to guide you through your tattoo experience, so here are some of the most commonly asked questions that I get. If you have a question that isn’t listed here, shoot me an email with the contact button below!

Honor Bound Tattoos & Piercing is where I call home. It's a large, bright and inviting studio with lots of art on the walls, and often there are lots of other people getting their own tattoos. We play music or watch movies, have silly conversations and generally try to keep the vibes high. I have snacks and drinks for your comfort, and a very comfortable tattoo bed to sit or lie on. We even have pillows. We gotchu.
I always allow you to control the conversation; if talking helps you out while we're tattooing, I can keep up with a conversation. If you prefer to sit and concentrate, I'm happy to just quietly work away as well.
It's typically a little chilly in the studio, so a blanket or hoodie is something you'll want to bring along just in case! Don't hesitate to make any requests ahead of time, I'll do my best to accommodate.

I do charge a booking fee to hold your appointment time and date from being scooped up by someone else. The booking fee amount will depend on the size of the project, and it is non-refundable, but also comes off of the cost of the tattoo on the day of your appointment!
Please be aware that I require 48 hours notice to move or cancel an appointment. If you change your appointment inside 48 hours of the scheduled date, you will forfeit your booking fee and need to provide another to schedule a new day and time. The reason for this is simply that it is very difficult to fill an appointment slot on short notice, and the booking fee covers off a portion of the income lost for that day. It's never personal.

I currently accept cash and e-transfer only

Please bring all possible references you have gathered that are important to the vision you have for the project we're discussing! You can't have too many references.

Your rate will depend on the size of the project. I bill hourly at $180. I offer a day rate of $900 for a 6 hour session. Due to the nature of severe arthritis that I suffer from, I cannot tattoo for more than 4 hours at a time, so that day rate may be split into two 3-hour days for the same price if necessary.
Smaller tattoo and flash designs are most often sold at a flat rate that will be discussed before we begin.

Everyone's experience is different, but yes it is painful. Some areas of the body are worse than others, and there are no spots that are truly pain free, despite what your friends told you.
-
I will go over aftercare with you in person after the tattoo is all bandaged up. We also provide print outs if needed, and you can email me anytime with questions

I believe tattoos are for adults, and as such I am an 18+ artist.

Absolutely, you should reasonably do whatever helps you through your appointment.

Not worth the risk, not gonna happen.

If things change and you can't make your appointment, I will require 48 hours notice to avoid forfeiting your booking fee.

There are certain emergency situations that are understandable, but it is up to my discretion ultimately.

Absolutely. There are a tonne of options available on sites like Amazon these days. They all contain 5% Lidocaine, which is the maximum allowable dosage of numbing agent in OTC creams in Canada, so the brands don't really make a huge difference.
Make sure to apply your cream LIBERALLY to the area you want number. Don't rub it in, just glob it on thickly and then wrap the area in clingfilm.
You need to allow the cream to work for 90 minutes before your appointment to get the best results.

Not at this time, sorry
